Distinguished Senator Gershom Bassey, the senator representing Cross River Southern Senatorial District and Chairman Senate Committee on Federal Emergency Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), splashes millions of naira on constituents by sharing tricycles (KEKE NAPEP) as his human capacity building project.
The empowerment which started about a week ago can be said to be immensely successful as it cuts across the different local governments in the Senatorial district and today happens to be the turn of bakassi local government area and other groups.
Presenting the tricycle to the beneficiaries in bakassi, the lawmaker represented by his Director General, Hon. Ekpo Ada said the empowerment was aimed towards changing the mindset of youth from always being expectant of charity to being self reliant. The DG also added that the empowerments are blueprints of promises made by the senator during his 2019 campaign to carry every local government along and making them enjoy dividends of quality representation.
The tricycles were presented to leaders of different groups in Bakassi on behalf of the group.
They include;
1. Bakassi youth front - Eyo Efiok Chairman
2. Anansa youth Association Ikang - Bassey Nathaniel President
3. Nka Ikemesit, Obio Esighi - Eyo Asuquo Edem President
4. G10 - Emmanuel Edem
The leaders of the different groups lauded the law maker for being a man of his words as he remembered his promises to his people in a time that it is needed most. They went further to pray for greater heights and good health for the distinguished senator.
Hon. Ekpo Ada in a statement, advised the beneficiaries to make the most out of what was presented to them. He added that Sen. Gershom Bassey does not only give fish, but gives hook and net and teaches his people how to catch the fish.
