The officers of the Nigerian Army have arrested a female secondary school student on her way to school with a locally made pistol at Ikot Ewa Community, Akpabuyo Cross River State.
The student whose name was withheld was arrested by the officers on duty in the community on Wednesday morning, 17th February, 2021.
After much interrogation my the officers of the Nigerian Army at Ikot Ewa Community, she confessed that she was on a mission to kill her teacher who has been asking her to cut her hair.
As disheartening as this may sound, this is the level at which insecurity has crept into the fabrics of the society, hence the need for adequate security measures, to help secure life and properties.
Although the source of the pistol in her possessing is yet unknown, it is worthy to recognise the intelligent work of the officers on duty who apprehended her thereby averting the ugly incident that would have occurred if she had arrived school with the pistol.
At the time of filing this report, decisions where yet to be taken about this outlawed student.
On the other hand, teachers have been advised to correct students with a level of decorum and not in a hash manner in order to avoid building up hatred into he heart of students.
