Rev. Barrister Eme Orji
has encouraged Christians to hold on to God in desperate times because there
is a way out. Rev Orji made this remark during a sermon at Assemblies of God,
91 Nelson Mandela Road Calabar on Sunday.
While referring to the
Bible passage that captures the essence of God satisfying us early in our
labour in his vineyard. The purport for which Most Christians suffer certain
things in life is a result of the glory at the later end which is centralized
on the “No surrender approach”.
Text: Psalm 19 verse 14,
Mark 5 verse 22 to 24 and 35 to 42.
The Bible passage read
captured a prominent man known as Jarius. He was a man who was understood to be
a political elite but still humbled himself in search of Jesus Christ because
he knew the importance of the messiah.
It was recorded in the
book of Mark 5 verse 22 that a man called Naaman was sick and approached
prophet Elijah for assistance. He was instructed on what to do for his remedy
to come but, he was clouded with pride and desired solution elsewhere. He
yielded to the instruction of the prophet after his servant persuaded him.
Naaman was too proud to obey what the servant of God had told him as his
remedy. But Jarius, though he was a great influencer, fell at the foot of Jesus
Christ when he desired divine healing for his sick daughter.
While he was journeying
with Jesus, they met a woman with the issue of blood of which physicians could
not find any solution to the problem. After so many struggles and without
remedy, she held unto her faith believing that surely there’s a remedy;
eventually, she touched the garment of Jesus and her body was made whole.
This message came as a
reminder that there’s always a way out of every situation.
When Jesus Christ
arrived at the house of Jairus, although everything was not in detail, the
child was dead. However, king Jairus was still hopeful because he knew who Jesus
was. As children of God, when we know who we are the Jesus Christ, we should
learn to trust in Him.
In reliance on the above
character, it is noteworthy that we should do away with ‘anybody ‘ or ‘anything
that will want to deter us from fulfilling our desires.
