He inaugurated the Party's National Youth Lobby Group, Cross River State Chapter, led by the Chairman, Mr Oden Ewa.
He also used the visit to announce to the Party leaders in the State that the slogan of the Party has been reviewed from 'Change' to 'Progress', because according to him progress is consistent.
In his remarks, Alhaji Ahmed commended the State Governor Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade and the members of the State Executive Committee led by Alphonsus Ogar Eba esq. for providing leadership and keeping the Party on the path of peace and unity which is one of the reasons why he chose the State as his first port of call. He made it known that the National body of the Party holds the Governor in high esteem.
Explaining the need for a National Youth Lobby Group, Alhaji Ahmed noted that, the Party has identified youths as a formidable force that would play a major role in determining the victory of the Party during the general elections in 2023. He stressed that the APC has to reinvent and define itself with its own character without the President Muhammadu Buhari's enigmatic presence. The Party has to work with the young people because they will determine the elections in 2023 whether we like it or not.
