Just like Tinubu, who made his ambition to contest for the
presidential ticket bare 24 hours ago, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave
Umahi, has also revealed that he has officially notified President Muhammadu
Buhari of his intention to run for All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for
the 2023 presidential election as well.
Umahi
said that he is not nervous or disturbed
by Tinubu’s interest to run for the presidency also, because he believes the
presidential race is not about might. He also added that the President advised
him to consult widely.

The
governor, who abandoned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC in 2021, restated
that the former ruling party was not ready to cede the 2023 ticket to the
southeast, adding that he stands a chance of becoming the President if the APC
throws the ticket open.
Umahi
emphatically said if he is given the chance, his presidency will duplicate his
efforts and good works in Ebonyi State at the national level, adding that he
has a lot to show in running governance as a business.

The Ebonyi Governor who also noted that the economic activities of the South East have been greatly impacted said he supports a political solution to the insecurity problems in the South East.
