Man Petitions Commissioner Of Police Over Threat To Life By MD C’R Water Board, Victor Ekpo

Mr. Victor Effiom Ekpo

The Managing Director of Cross River State Water Board, Mr. Victor Effiom Ekpo has been accused of threatening to eliminate one Pastor Effiong Ekpo.

According to the petition dated 3rd January 2022, with the titles Petition over threat to my life, Mr. Victor Ekpo as seen in this paper, made the threat during 3 minutes, 28 seconds telephone conversation on December 29, 2021, with Pastor Efffiong Ekpo.

Pastor Ekpo who is also the President, Association of Concerned Indigenes of Okoyong Community, ACIOC, a frontline community development group based in Okoyong Community pleaded with the police commissioner and other security agencies to save him and his family from “harmful plot by Mr. Victor Ekpo”

The group had reacted to the viral video made by Mr. Ekpo’s wife, Mrs. Stella Odey, who is also the Commissioner for local government affairs, where she cautioned some party supporters not to pay homage to Chief Asuquo Ekpenyong.

The group, while distancing itself from the statement, also frowned at the comments saying it is “an insult to the person of the respected political leader of Odukpani”

"The Water Board Managing Director got so infuriated that he called him and threatened to kill him." Pastor Ekpo said.

“After the statement that we made, Mr. Victor Ekpo that has not called me for years only called and abused me for insulting his wife, then he said "Anywhere I see you, I will kill you. It is either I kill you or you kill me.” Ekpo told our source.

Pastor Effiong who is also a retired soldier also said “I have served this country as a soldier nobody can issue such a threat to me and I keep quiet and watch. Especially with the current security problems in our country. That is why I am taking the right step to inform the appropriate security agencies."

“The decision to distance ourselves from the unguided utterances of Mrs Odey and apologizing to HRH Etinyin (Dr) Asukwo Ekpenyong OON, on behalf of the entire Okoyong community was a collective one as an association during our group’s general meeting. It was not my personal decision. So why is the attack now on my person?” he asked.
