Nnamdi Kanu |
February 16 has been granted by Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja for the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, to challenge the competence of the terrorism charges levied against him.
The date was fixed after the Judge had turned down the request of the Federal Government to open the trial.
Meanwhile, Kanu asked the court to discharge and acquit him without standing trial in the heinous crime because the charges are incurably defective and have no force of law.
However, he has been returned to the detention facility of the Department of State Services (DSS) till the issue of his request for bail is resolved.
