Amidst massive turn-out and paraphernalia, her Excellency, Ambassador Nkoyo Toyo formally declared her intention to join the forthcoming 2023 Gubernatorial Elections in Cross River State.
She made the declaration on Saturday, 12th February 2022 during an outing with members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in her Ward in Cross River State.
Her Excellency, while addressing the Crowd, stated unequivocally that the PDP is here to rescue Nigeria. She further stated that with her Local, National and International Networks, she more than has the Competence and experience to Recover, Reset and Reposition Cross River State.
In her declaration speech, the former House of Representatives Member pointed out that Sustainability, Critical Infrastructure, Human Capital Development, Economic Growth and Security make up the Pillars of her Campaign come 2023.
Responding to the declaration, the State PDP Women Leader, Honourable Florence Inyang reiterated that Amb. Toyo is one woman who has the capacity and virtue to deliver Cross River State and restore the State to its former glory.
In the same breath, the Chapter Chairman of Calabar Municipality Local Government Area Dr Otop Oqua Otop also made clear that Ambassador Toyo's pedigree and track record speaks for itself when it comes to leadership at that level. He stated, "as a diplomat, she was exceptional, as a representative at the Federal House, she made us all proud, we have no doubt that her Excellency will do well as Governor of Cross River come 2023.
Ambassador Toyo thanked the people for the massive show of love and support. She promised to keep the fire burning and see the race to a viable conclusion.
