Gunmen attack Abia Cattle market, many feared Killed

Many persons have been reportedly killed by gunmen during an invasion of the newly constructed Abia cattle market in Omumauzor in Ukwa West local area of Abia State.

According to The Nation, the attack on Tuesday midnight kept the villagers apprehensive.

It was gathered that security operatives have taken over the area to maintain peace.

Recalls that a police officer, Inspector Friday Adama was killed during an attack by gunmen on headquarters of the Abia State Police Command in Umuahia, the state capital in December 2021.

The gunmen, who were disguised in military camouflage, opened fire on policemen on pin-down duty in front of the 28 Police Mobile Force beside the state command headquarters, Bende Road, Umuahia.
