The Cross Rivers State Medical and Dental Students' Association (CRIMSA) has on Friday 18th February 2022 conferred on the distinguished Senator representing the good people of Cross Rivers South Senatorial District, Senator Gershom Bassey, a Humanitarian Service Award.
According to the President of the association who conveyed the wishes of all Congressmen, the decision was made because of the humanitarian projects of Senator Gershom and the partnership with the Health Professional for Senator Gershom Bassey(HP4SGB) in executing health campaigns and projects.
The distinguished Senator was represented by the Director-General of the HP4SGB Dr Ogar Emmanuel who extended the appreciation for the recognition. He also stated that he was aware of the scholarship for medical students that had stopped for several years and that he would set up modalities in place so medical students can continue to benefit from the state-sponsored scheme because of the rising cost of medical education.
