The senator representing Cross River Southern Senatorial District, Senator Gershom Bassey has moved that the Senate do consider the report of the Joint Committees on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA); Petroleum (Downstream) and National Planning on the Non-Remittance of the 5% user charge pump price of petrol and international vehicle transit charges accrued to the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA).
The senator while speaking, revealed the problem of insecurity on nigerian roads and its adverse negative impact on the economy of our country. He also lamented the abysmal funding of FERMA which is the government agency with the responsibility of funding roads in Nigeria.
