Amb. Nkoyo Toyo, the only female gubernatorial aspirant in Cross River State has said that to be able to address the problems facing the state, Cross River State needs a technically minded person to redesign the architectural structure of governance in the State.
She also added that it is time for the men to shift a little for women to showcase and invest their wealth of knowledge in the governance and development of the state.
This she said while speaking with the leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Calabar South Chapter on Friday.
Amb. Toyo said that for a transformation to take place in the state, men, having led for the past 24 years, have to shift a bit for a competent woman to bring about the transformational growth Cross Riverians desire to see.

Toyo further revealed that her international experience and wealth of knowledge are worth bringing home to better Cross River State.
"We need a technically minded person to redesign the architectural structure of governance in the State to be able to address the problems of the state.
"The problem is that we have a very serious governance challenge as we go into the next 8 years. But, it is the time of the South. Be it as it may, let the men shift for a woman, a competent woman to transform Cross River State"
"It is the turn of the South and Nkoyo Toyo is that Competent Woman. Being a woman, you are a multitasker which is a different skill set." She added.
The Calabar South Chapter Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Hon. Felix Offiong appreciated Amb. Nkoyo Toyo for deeming it fit to visit the Chapter. He promised that Calabar South Chapter will stand with the competent, adding that she is a competent leader.

Reacting, the Women leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the Calabar South Chapter, Mrs. Queensly Offiong Bassey, said she is delighted that a competent woman has reason to the challenge of the time. She also said that she and all the women will join forces with Amb. Nkoyo Toyo to break the bias ensure that a competent woman becomes the governor of Cross River State.
"First of all, as a woman, I am proud that this office has come to an epitome of knowledge, someone who is well vested in areas she has mentioned. When you mention Amb. Nkoyo Toyo, you see humanitarian services.
I am also a beneficiary of her services. I preach the gospel of women, we need to break the bias because women are not carried along.
"We are tired of always being remembered when it comes to dancing and singing men up. I believe in you and I stand with you to tell the men to shift a bit while a woman shows them how things should be done." She Said.

"When you want something done you can always ask a woman. And be sure that it will be done" She added.
Chief Offiong Okon Etim Edem also appreciated her courage as the only woman among many gubernatorial aspirants. He further, said that her depth of knowledge and competence is immeasurable and on to align with.
“I admire your courage; it is not easy to stand up among men as a woman. But, your depth of knowledge and show of competence is such that should be aligned with.” He said.
“My one vote will before you” He added.
Amb. Toyo also visited PDP elders in Calabar South Chapter and the Ward leaders. And with one voice they have promised their support and allegiance to her.
