Beneficiaries and their motorcycles |
The Senator representing Southern Senatorial district and Frontline Governorship Aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State, Sen. Gershom Henry Bassey has empowered the Party's Ward Chairmen in Ikom LGA with brand new motorcycles.
The Distinguished Senator was represented at the event by the Member Representing Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency and the undisputed Leader of Ikom LGA, Rt Hon Ntol Chris Agibe. While presenting the gifts, Ntol Chris Agibe encouraged the party leaders to put the motorcycle to judicious use to deliver on the onerous task of mobilizing people for the overall interest and victory of the party in 2023 general elections. He appealed to those beneficiaries who may not want to use the motorcycles themselves to release them to persons who will utilise the motorcycles for intended purposes.
On his part, the elated Chapter Chairman of Ikom LGA, Mr Julius Ebi Eyam aka Mascara seized the opportunity to announce to the party ward Chairmen and other party faithful that he too has received a Mini Bus some months ago from Sen. Gershom Bassey. He maintained that the entire Ikom LGA is solidly behind the Back to South campaign and is rooting for Sen. Gershom Bassey in particular to be Governor in 2023. He also entreated the party leaders to put the motorcycles to judicious use while discharging their constitutional functions.
Speaking on behalf of the ward Chairmen, the Chairman of Yala-Nkum Ward, who doubles as the Chairman of the Ward Chairmen forum in Ikom LGA, Mr Ojong Nsan applauded Sen. Gershom Bassey for his benevolence towards all Ward Chairmen across the state and promised to work assiduously for his victory at the forthcoming gubernatorial primary election slated for the month of May.
Other well-meaning sons and daughters of Ikom extraction as well as party faithful who witnessed the event hailed the magnanimity of Distinguish Senator Gershom Bassey and urged the Ward Chairmen to return this kind gesture in triple proportions.
