The senator representing the Southern Senatorial district and frontline Governorship hopeful of Cross River State, Senator Gershom Henry Bassey has donated motorcycles to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ward Chairmen of the thirteen Council Wards of Yakurr Local Government Area.
Presenting the motorcycles to the ward chairmen, the chapter chairman of PDP in Yakurr, Mr. Enang Omini Eyong expressed appreciation to Senator Gershom Bassey for the gifts. He said that Yakurr has benefited enormously from the large-hearted Senator Gershom Bassey and is always ready to welcome and support him at all times.
Receiving their motorcycles, the ward Chairmen in their speeches, enumerated the numerous empowerment and gifts they have reviewed from Senator Gershom Bassey and they all promised to utilize the motorcycles appropriately, specifically in running the day to day activities of the party in their various wards. They also promised to support him in the forthcoming Governorship elections.
Chief Obeten Okorn who is a foundation member of the PDP and former member representing Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency described Senator Gershom Bassey as a consistent, prudent, steadfast and victory oriented member of the PDP. He reiterated that through Sen. Bassey, the party has recorded strategic victories and development. He charged the PDP ward Chairmen and members of the party to avoid distractions that will impede the victory of the party in the forthcoming elections. He advised them to annihilate the politics of profanation and hatred of aspirants and fellow party faithful but rather be exemplary in their utterances, conduct and attitudes they portray as members of the PDP.
Chief Obeten Okorn further extolled Sen. Gershom Bassey for the donation of motorcycles to Yakurr PDP ward chairmen and thanked him for his benevolence to the Yakurr people. He said the people of Yakurr believe so much in the Distinguished Senator and will support him to become Governor of Cross River State come 2023.
Rt. Hon Bassey Eko Ewa, a former member representing Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency and leading Senatorial aspirant in the race for Central Senatorial District seat said in politics a man whose words are true and he keeps to his promises should be supported at all times. He revealed that the magnanimity of Senator Gershom is innate. He also mentioned the recent donation of a bus to Yakurr PDP Chapter and other numerous empowerments of the Yakurr people by Senator Gershom Bassey. He stressed that this is the turn of the South to take the Governorship and Senator Gershom Bassey, a man whose magnanimity spreads across the state and who has a profundity for good governance, is the best candidate to be supported and voted for in the forthcoming elections. He added that the Senator is set to restore the viability of the state and strengthen its economy. According to Rt. Hon Bassey Ewa, the people of Yakurr LGA will copiously benefit from such developmental strides.
Rt. Hon Bassey Ewa prayed for the beneficiaries of the motorcycles. He asked God to bless and protect them as they use the motorcycles to earn a living and achieve great results in all activities they will engage in.
