The senator representing the Southern Senatorial District in Cross River State, Distinguished Senator Gershom Bassey received a delegation, made up of a team of Surveyors, to the Senate Public Petitions Committee. The delegates were at the Senate Committee hearing to protest the non-payment of invoices by NDDC.
Mr. Akankpo Aniyom led the team of Surveyors to the Senate Public Petitions Committee hearing to protest the non-payment of invoices by NDDC since 2012.
During the hearing, some senators alleged that there was something fishy about the complaints of the delegation, especially the team leader. However, the leading Governorship aspirant in Cross River State, Senator Gershom Bassey, who is an active member of that committee, quickly drew the attention of his colleagues to the fact that the aforementioned person is a reputable gentleman who is well known in Cross River State. Sen. Gershom Bassey described Mr. Aniyom as an ordained clergyman with high moral and ethical standards who has the fear of God in him.
He buttressed that Mr Aniyom should be trusted and everyone can have faith in his managerial relationship.
Indeed, this act of trust by Distinguished Senator Gershom Bassey in standing up publicly for a fellow Cross Rivererian is highly commendable and is a testimony to the good Senator's love for Cross River State. This smacks of true patriotism to our collective Statehood.
