The Made-In-Nigeria (MIN) Show by Dike Chukwumerije is coming to the city of Calabar. It is scheduled to be staged at the ancient city of Calabar, the capital of Cross River State on Saturday, 20th August 2022 by 4 pm.
The Made-In-Nigeria Show is a Spoken Word Production by Nigeria’s foremost performance poet, Dike Chukwumerije. The show takes the audience on a breath-taking 120 minutes journey through our 108-year history as a Nation - using Poetry, Dance, Music and Theatre.
The Made-In-Nigeria Show has been staged more than 30 times across the length and breadth of Nigeria over the past 6 years. From Abuja to Lagos, Maiduguri to Bonny Island, Kaduna to Enugu, Jos to Benin City, Makurdi to Ile-Ife, Yola to Umuahia, Ibadan to Kano to Niger to Gombe to Taraba – and also in 6 Nigerian Universities!
It has been well received in every location staged – as it continues to heighten our collective consciousness in our shared history as a Nation - plus rekindle a sense of Hope and Faith in our Country. Its vivid and socially conscious rendition of the ups and downs of our 108-year National History is reminiscent of Herbert Ogunde’s travelling troupe of the 50s – which reflected the political and social realities of that period.
This year, the Made-In-Nigeria show has been staged in Ibadan on 29-Jan-22 and then in Kano on 26-Feb-22 - Staged in Owerri on 26-Mar-22. Minna (22-Apr-22), Port-Harcourt (28-May-22), Gombe (16-Jun-22), Jalingo (16-Jul-22), Lokoja 23-July-22 now finally in the beautiful city of Calaba.
