I Never Attacked Senator Bassey Otu. I Was Quoted Out Of Context - PDP Deputy Governorship Candidate, Emana Amawhe

The deputy governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, Lady Emana Duke Amawhe has debunked statement credited to her by a local and unknown news platform,  weetalknaija

Lady Emana who described the news publication as mischievous and fruitless attempt to misrepresent what she said at a PDP event  vehemently denied content of the publication.

The PDP deputy governorship hopeful was quoted to have insulted the APC governorship candidate, Ntufam Sen. Prince Bassey Otu at a PDP stakeholders event held at Calabar municipality,  while describing him as a stooge of governor Ben Ayade. She was also quoted to have attacked proponents of the back to south agenda.

The statement was greeted by serious attacks by supporters of Sen. Otu who described her as shame to the people of the southern senatorial district.

Reacting to enquiry by our reporter, the broadcast journalist turned politician said

"It’s obvious that the writer is mischievous , perhaps even sponsored and only out to skew what was said.

My take is that at this time, we the good people of Cross River should rise above ethnic sentiments and demand for good governance.

I am a daughter of the South and the fact that I have the interest of CRS and that of my people in the south at heart just as my Principal, Prof Sandy Onor does, has never been in doubt .

As a PDP faithful and deputy governorship candidate , I wonder when asking my party men to shun anti party activities and stay resolute in passing the message across to the electorate that a vote for  the PDP in the 2023 elections is the best alternative to what obtains today, translates to this twisted narrative"

Lady Emana recently came under heavy media  attack over a comment credited to her at a PDP function recently in Calabar.
