The Inspector General of Police has arraigned one Joseph Mathew Utum at the Grade 1 court of Nyanya District in the federal capital territory,Abuja. Joseph Mathew Utum was arraigned following a four count charge brought against him by the police authorities. The charges range from Atempt to cause bodily harm, Adultery,Stealing of iPhone 13pro max, conspiracy to commit murder.
Joseph Mathew Utum who pleaded guilty to Stealing of IPhone 13pro max before Justice I. M. Wada while taking his plea however pleaded not guilty to the other charges preferred against him.
The prosecution asked the court to remand him in prison custody pending the application for his bail.
Joseph Utum who jumped police administrative bail had been on the run before he was captured along Kubwa expressway abuja by men of the Special Tactical Squad of the Nigeria Police on the 22nd of December,2022 and has since been in police detention.
The court ordered the remand of Joseph Utum until the 7th of January ,2023 when the matter is expected to come up. He has been remanded at the Keffi prison accordingly.
It would be recalled that recently a leaked telephone conversation between Joseph Utum and Kezia Irek while she was in her husband’s house revealed adultery and deep conspiracy to harm her husband. The conversation also revealed that Kezia Irek’s mother who is a deaconess with the Living Faith Church AKA winners chapel was fully aware of the adultery and was part of the conspiracy to harm her daughter’s husband in other to claim his property.
Investigations revealed that the adulterous lovers Kezia Irek and Joseph Mathew Utum had planned to elope to the United Kingdom after eliminating the husband of Kezia Irek taking the proceeds of the property sale with them to start a new life.
Joseph Mathew Utum whose father who is a presiding pastor at Mountain Of Fire Miracle Ministries, Calabar is yet to comment on the incident.
Meanwhile Mrs Roseline Irek and Kezia Irek’s lawyers who had stormed the courthouse to secure her bail met brick wall as the bail application they filed was declared defective in hot legal exchange.
Justice I. M. Wada adjourned the matter for ruling. Meanwhile Kezia Irek is now to spend new year at the Suleja prison pending the determination of her application for bail.
