The Senator representing the southern Senatorial District of Cross River State, Senator Gershom Bassey has revealed that the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP will win in all the senatorial districts of the state.
The distinguished Senator revealed this in an interview with pressmen during a town hall meeting for the Northern Senatorial District held by the Atiku/Okowa Cross River State Presidential Campaign Committee on the 31st of December, 2022.
He also revealed that the impact of the town hall meeting has quite deep, stressing that it is important for people to understand the issues in the country and to take the right decision while voting. Adding that Atiku is the right decision.
"The impacts have been quite deep, what you find is that it is important that people understand the issues and that the issue is clearly explained to them by those who have the information. The right decision is Atiku, of course, it is PDP all the way. It is important to pass the right information to various segments of society so that our voters can vote rightly."
On the level of preparedness, Gershom Bassey revealed that Cross River State is a PDP state and has never voted for another party since 1999. He also revealed that the increased cost of goods and services and security challenges in the country under the APC government is enough reason for PDP to win.
"Yes, definitely I think Cross River State is a PDP state and we have never voted for any other party in this state since 1999 and I think that will continue particularly having seen what has happened today in an APC government at the federal level especially. The devastation as a result of the APC government in the country has been felt by everybody from the increase in the cost of goods and services to security issues and so on.
"The only choice we have is to go back to the PDP that was tried, and tested and where we enjoyed prosperity in this country." He added.
The distinguished Senator further revealed that the chances of the PDP presidential candidate, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar winning in Cross River State is 98 to 99 per cent, adding that he will win every senatorial district in the state.
"He will win, definitely no doubt he will win every senatorial district in Cross river state. His chances are 98 per cent to 99 per cent."
The town hall meeting was organised by Atiku/Okowa CRS PCC under the graceful leadership of HE. Sen. Liyel Imoke (DDG Operations, A/O PCCO), Dist. Sen. Gershom Bassey, (Chairman, CRS PCC) and Rt. Hon. Obeten Okorn (DG, CRS PCC).
