Senator Shehu Sani on his official Twitter handle @shehusani has kicked against the new symbol of justice adding that it is not the approved symbol of Justice. He further said it should be pulled down and replaced with the one we are familiar with.
The Image on the Senator's Twitter handle was the back side of the new sculpture of the Lady Justice created by Taiwo Joel for Adeleke University out of genuine passion and talent for artistic representation.
Reacting to the post by Senator Shehu Sani, Nigerians have expressed their thoughts about the new symbol of justice.
See comments below;
"This is what we call ROBUST JUSTICE. It draws our supreme court justices to how our justice ought to be - beautiful, robust and attractive."
"This was a slay queen from Lekki"
"This symbol fit confuse judge"
"Here is the front view. Judi-ciari"
"This is a new symbol of justice, sir. On the scales, they should put naira against dollars in the balances too then the sword should be a nice AK47. That's how justice in Nigeria is like. Those are the needs... Ikpu, Ego or Egbe... Ké ogbuna ì weñre iji yio ayi-yio."
"The old one has turned to olosho, so we need this one. The judiciary needs to be restructured starting from here.
The wisdom behind this upgraded symbol; "There is lot of things, happening behind the law."
"The balancing scale depicting justice and equity, and the sword of judgement is conspicuously displayed by the mother of all. The other thing you imagine is the handiwork of the craftsman who wanted to satisfy those who gave him the contract."
@gibson said; "Exactly, it's the "bottom line" that's the issue. The sculptor has not evenly distributed the resources and endowment of the sculpture, which is clearly unfair and promotes marginalisation. This one looks more like it's of South African origin."
@Chu_Odoemson said; "Not exactly, Senator. Remember, justice is CENTRAL to the stability of a nation, and the Middle Belt plays a very important role in that regard. We have upgraded the symbol of justice for a prosperous modern Nigeria. Lol."
@A_Idajili sais; "I think it is an almost accurate depiction of the current state of the Nigerian Judicial system."
