Hon Abang Pius Besong, a popular philanthropist also known as (Ab Amani Jojo ) has lauded Cross Riverians and Nigerians at large for their consistent faith in Democracy which was evident in the 2023 general elections that led to the emergence of our Governor, His Excellencies Sen Prince Bassey Otu and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Wishing the people a happy Democracy Day in a message made available to his Media team, Hon Abang stated that, the fight for a robust democracy (government of the people, by the people and for the people) is a collective responsibility and therefore called on Cross Riverians to work with the current administration which from the onset has promised to lead a democratic administration with the 'PEOPLE'S FIRST' mandate and has been working deligently to deliver on their mandate since assuming office on May 29th 2023.
He also acknowledged that the democratic journey has been faced with challenges, but expressed confidence in the fact that the labour of our heroes' past shall never be in vain.
"Our constant belief in democracy and consistent effort to sustain the labour of our past heroes who risked their lives in the struggle to end military regime is laudable…and I am certain that the labour won't be in vain.”–He reiterated
"On this day which marks the Democracy Day in our dear country, I hereby urge my fellow Cross Riverians to work collectively by supporting and working with the current administration of His Excellency, Sen Bassey Edet Otu which is bent diligently on the 'PEOPLE'S FIRST' mandate"
