A yet-to-be-identified man has been killed in a suspected hit-and-run accident that occurred at the Mile 2 area of Lagos State.
The incident happened on Friday night at about 9:30 pm along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway by the Ballet bus stop opposite Pinnacle Filling Station.
An eyewitness, identified as Olusegun told our correspondent that the deceased was passing by when the vehicle rammed on him and sped off immediately.
A passerby however called the emergency response team who responded swiftly.
The team led by one Mr Christopher Okudibe arrived around 6:15 am on Saturday to evacuate the corpse.
He said, “The accident happened suddenly and the driver didn’t bother to wait. The emergency response team was called and they responded swiftly in the morning around 6:15 am.”
In a video shown to our correspondent by the eyewitness, three personnel of the team were seen carrying the wrapped corpse into their vehicle.
Reacting, the Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, said the case has not been reported.
“I am not aware of that yet because the case has not been reported.”
