The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency has confirmed the arrest of a suspect involved in the r*pe of a 14-year-old girl in Alakuko, Lagos.
In a statement shared on X.com on Friday, the agency announced its collaboration with the Lagos State Police Command to investigate the incident.
The agency further noted that the survivor is receiving full medical treatment while the suspect remains in police custody.
"We are working closely with #LagosPoliceNG on the investigation. The survivor is under medical care, and the suspect has been detained," the statement read.
PUNCH Online had earlier reported that the alleged perpetrator is the son of the victim's landlord.
