Tobi Amusan |
Nigeria's Tobi Amusan, the 2022 world champion and world record holder in the women's 100m hurdles, did not make it to the final of the 100m hurdles at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Friday.
Amusan, who ran in the sixth lane, finished third in Heat 1 with a time of 12.55 seconds. However, she missed out on the final as Jamaica's Ackera Nugent (12.44s) and France's Cyrena Samba-Mayela (12.52s) qualified from Heat 3.
Despite being one of Nigeria's top hopes for a gold medal, Amusan's time of 12.55s placed her ninth, just outside the top eight who advanced to the final.
