Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, the wife of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has passed away.
The sad news was announced by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong, in a statement released early Friday.
According to the commissioner, Mrs. Patience Eno died on September 26, 2024, at a hospital, surrounded by her family.
The statement titled “Unexpected Sunset” read: “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the Wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, following an illness. She passed away peacefully at the hospital on 26th September 2024, in the presence of her family."
The family expressed their acceptance of God’s will and requested prayers and support during this difficult time. They also asked for privacy as they mourn the loss of their wife, mother, and grandmother.
Governor Umo Eno expressed his gratitude to those who have supported the first family and assured the people of Akwa Ibom that despite the personal loss, he remains committed to serving the state. Further details will be provided by the family as necessary.
