Cross River State Launches Measles Vaccination Campaign




The Cross River State Primary Health Care Development Agency, in partnership with the State Ministry of Health and other organizations, will begin an Integrated Measles Vaccination Campaign from October 5th to 13th, 2024.


What is Measles?

Measles is a dangerous disease caused by a virus that spreads easily from one person to another. It can lead to serious health problems, especially in young children.


Vaccines Available 

During this campaign, children aged 0-23 months will receive other important childhood vaccines, and girls aged 9-14 years will be given the HPV vaccine. Children aged 9-59 months will be vaccinated against measles.


Where to Get Vaccinated  

Trained health workers will be available at health facilities and other locations such as schools, churches, mosques, and markets. The vaccination will take place from 8 am to 2 pm.


Message for Parents and Caregivers 

Parents and caregivers are encouraged to bring their children for this free vaccination to protect them from preventable diseases.
