Ekiti Police Commissioner Advises Youths to Avoid October 1 Protest

The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, Adeniran Akinwale, has urged youths in the state to avoid joining the planned protest scheduled for October 1 to prevent it from being taken over by troublemakers.

Speaking to The PUNCH in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, Akinwale encouraged the youth to seek peace and dialogue instead of resorting to protests. He emphasized that illegal actions should not be used to achieve legitimate goals.

“We advise the public to avoid protests that could be hijacked by criminals, which would be harmful to everyone involved. We are committed to ensuring peace and order in Ekiti State,” Akinwale said.

He mentioned that the police are in discussions with key stakeholders and will continue to engage with the youth to maintain calmness and avoid unlawful actions.

“Given the current economic situation, both locally and globally, everyone needs to make sacrifices and approach issues peacefully. It is not necessary to follow a path that disrupts peace in the state,” the commissioner added.
