The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has announced the estimated pump prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, sourced from the Dangote Refinery. These prices will be applied at NNPC retail stations across the country.
In a statement, NNPC clarified that petrol prices are not set by the government, as per the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA). Instead, they are determined through direct negotiations between the involved parties.
NNPC also confirmed that it is paying Dangote Refinery in US dollars for PMS supplied in September 2024. Payments in Naira will begin on October 1st, 2024.
If there is any discount offered by Dangote Refinery, NNPC assures the public that the full benefit will be passed on to consumers.
Attached to the statement are the estimated petrol prices for NNPC retail stations for September 2024.
