Port Harcourt, Nigeria – The 9th edition of the #StartupSouth conference, a major tech and business innovation event in the South-South and South-East regions of Nigeria, is set to take place on October 3-4, 2024, in Port Harcourt. Uche Aniche, the convener and co-founder, announced the theme for this year, "Deep & Broad: Extending Frontiers of Technology and Economic Development," which highlights the goal of promoting innovation and economic growth in these regions.
Started in 2015, #StartupSouth aims to inspire and support the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators. Over the years, it has become a leading platform for tech, business innovation, and networking in Nigeria’s startup ecosystem.
This year’s conference will feature over 50 sessions and more than 70 speakers covering topics like policy innovation, technology, education, climate resilience, and the creative economy. Notable speakers include Tomi Davies, Seun Onigbinde (Co-founder, Budgit), Ugochukwu Aronu (Founder, Xend Finance), and many others.
The event will also include the annual Startup Awards, which will introduce new categories such as Most Innovative Public Institution and Leader. Another exciting part of the event is the $RWA Hackathon, offering over $4,000 in prizes and the chance to win up to $1 million in investment.
