Turkey has accused Israel of trying to extend the Gaza conflict into Lebanon after a series of deadly explosions hit Hezbollah strongholds. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan expressed concern on state-run TV, saying, "The situation in the region is worrying, and Israel seems to be increasing its attacks on Lebanon."
The explosions in Lebanon have killed 32 people, including two children, and injured over 3,000 in just two days, according to the Lebanese health ministry. Although Israel has not officially commented on the incidents, its defense minister Yoav Gallant hinted that the focus of the conflict was shifting northward, toward Lebanon.
Turkey holds Israel responsible for the blasts, stating that Hezbollah and its allies may be forced to respond. Hezbollah, which supports Hamas in Gaza, has been involved in frequent clashes with Israeli forces near the Lebanese border.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also expressed condolences to Lebanon's Prime Minister Najib Mikati following the explosions, maintaining his criticism of Israel's actions in Gaza.
