Dolly Parton Receives PEACE Through Music Award

Music legend Dolly Parton has been awarded the 2024 PEACE Through Music Award, presented by the U.S. Department of State and the Recording Academy. This award celebrates American artists who promote global peace and understanding through their work.

Dolly, a 10-time GRAMMY winner, has made a worldwide impact not only through her music but also through her charity work. Her Imagination Library program has donated over 255 million books to children worldwide. She also played a key role in supporting the COVID-19 vaccine, helping millions worldwide.

Tonight, Parton will be honored at the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles, where the first group of participants from the American Music Mentorship Program will also be recognized.

The PEACE Through Music Award is part of the State Department’s Global Music Diplomacy Initiative, a program that uses music to foster unity and peace. Music icon Quincy Jones was the first recipient in 2023. Parton’s award highlights her decades-long dedication to music, peace, and giving back.
