Wike and Fubara Feud Beyond Repair, Says Fayose

Former Ekiti governor Ayodele Fayose has stated that the ongoing feud between Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara is now "beyond reconciliation."

The two political figures have been at odds over control of Rivers State’s political structure, leading to divisions within the state assembly and several legal battles.

Speaking on Channels Television on Sunday, Fayose described the situation as "very unfortunate" and expressed doubt that the conflict could be resolved. He recalled advising Fubara early on to "avoid Wike’s trouble" after the governor's election victory.

Fayose noted, “The crisis has gone too far. Even if reconciliation is attempted, the trust has been broken. It seems too late for any chance of mending the relationship.”

Wike had initially supported Fubara to succeed him as governor of Rivers State, but their relationship has since soured.

'Tinubu's Government Doing Its Best,' Says Fayose

Fayose also commented on the administration of President Bola Tinubu, acknowledging the challenges the country faces but expressing confidence that the government is trying its best to address economic issues. He noted that the damage to Nigeria’s economy is deep and will take time to fix, urging Nigerians to remain patient.

"It’s not easy for Nigerians right now, but with time, things could improve," Fayose said, adding that economic recovery cannot happen overnight.
