Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has dissolved the Governing Councils of all state-owned tertiary institutions, including Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.
The governor also dismissed the management staff of Edo Specialist Hospital and Stella Obasanjo Hospital, Benin City, effective immediately.
This decision was announced on November 20, 2024, in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor, and reiterated by the Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, on Wednesday.
Affected council members and hospital management staff have been instructed to hand over government properties to their respective institutions' most senior officers.
