Tinubu Appoints Acting Controller-General for Correctional Service

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Nwakuche Ndidi as the Acting Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service. This follows the end of Haliru Nababa's tenure, who was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari in February 2021.

The announcement was made by Ja’afaru Ahmed, Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Board, on Friday. Ndidi's appointment will start on December 15, 2024.

Nwakuche Ndidi, born on November 26, 1966, is from Oguta in Imo State. Before this appointment, he was the Deputy Controller-General in charge of the Training and Staff Development Directorate. He is a fellow of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies and holds the national honour of Member of the Federal Republic.

President Tinubu has urged Ndidi to use his extensive experience in his new role. This change aims to bring fresh leadership to the Nigerian Correctional Service and continue improving the system.
