A fire outbreak in Kano State in January 2025 killed six people, while six others were rescued, according to the State Fire Service.
Speaking on behalf of the service’s spokesman, Kabiru Isah Jaafar confirmed the figures on Tuesday and stated that properties worth N1.19 billion were saved from the fire.
He added that the fire service responded to 56 fire incidents, including 10 rescue calls and seven false alarms, from 29 fire stations across the state.
Jaafar urged the public to be careful with fire, especially during harmattan, and advised motorists to follow traffic rules to prevent accidents.
