Rev. Barr. Eme Orji |
Rev. Barr. Eme Orji preached on March 23rd, basing his message on Exodus 24:1-2, 9-11, under the title "They Saw God and Ate Before Him, But..." The sermon taught us to be faithful to the way God has chosen for us.
Key Takeaways from the Sermon
1. Faith Is a Journey, Not a One-Time Event
Most individuals believe in God and they personally experience Him, but the greatest test is staying faithful in His way. Life is a path, and we must be intentional in walking God's way to reach the right destination.
2. Avoid Seeking People's Approval
Rev. Orji reminded us of Aaron's mistake in bowing to the wishes of the people when Moses was on the mountain (Exodus 32). People-pleasing instead of God-pleasing can have extremely negative outcomes.
3. Serve God Wholeheartedly
Any activity in life without God is futile. True service to God should not be done for human recognition but for His sake. When God is pleased with our service, blessings come by default.
4. Don't Lose Your Spiritual Reward
Numbers 20:26 informs us of how Aaron's priestly robe was taken off and passed to his son, Eliezer. We are cautioned here—do not be so careless that we lose our God-appointed status and benefits just before we can reap them.
Final Thoughts
This reminds us to remain steadfast in faith, serve God truthfully, and not get diverted from His purpose. We should never lose our crown spiritually due to a lack of attention or seeking approval from man.
