The 31st National Conference and 29th Anniversary of the All Nigerian Conference of Evangelical Drama Ministers (ANCEDRAM) commenced today in a vibrant and spirit-filled atmosphere, as delegates from across the nation converged in celebration and anticipation.
In his welcome address, ANCEDRAM National President, Pastor Biodun Soretire, expressed profound gratitude to God and excitement over the gathering. “I am so excited, seriously joyous because the Lord Almighty has made our 31st Congress and 29th Anniversary a reality today with the theme Great Grace,” he said. “By the grace of God, we have representatives from all regions of the nation. The Lord has been so good to us. Sit tight and be blessed by God.”
The central theme, Great Grace, took center stage as Bishop Ayo Odunayo, Bishop of Victory International Church, Port Harcourt, delivered the keynote address. Drawing from Acts 4:33, he highlighted the connection between divine empowerment and extraordinary grace: “When you give witness with great power, there will be manifestation of great grace,” he declared.
Expounding on the theme, Bishop Odunayo emphasized that “great grace” signifies a level of grace that surpasses the ordinary—grace that is “big and extraordinary.” He explained that while many operate under basic grace, God desires His people to walk in great grace—an exceptional measure of divine enablement.
“Grace is a gift to the undeserved and to the unworthy. It is a gift of favour, help, and kindness that is given without the receiver qualifying for it,” he said, referencing Ephesians 4:7. “To receive this grace, you need a step of faith. Not everyone receives a gift—even when it is offered.”
The bishop also described grace as divine acceptance, the key to being effective in ministry. “It is grace that makes our ministry accepted by men. My prayer for ANCEDRAM—everywhere you go, may you find grace.”
Referencing Genesis 32:5, he drew parallels with Jacob’s return to Esau, explaining that true acceptance cannot be bought but must come through grace. “Doors will open to you when you find acceptance before God,” he added.
Quoting Psalm 39:11 and Genesis 39:2, he further asserted that grace is the presence and power of God working in a person’s life. “Joseph prospered because God was with him. If you need grace and great grace, you need God,” he said.
Bishop Odunayo also described grace as God’s ability in difficult situations, referencing Paul’s testimony in 2 Corinthians 12:9. “Grace is what sustains us in difficulty. It helps us go the extra mile and resist compromise. In times of pressure, you need grace to stand.”
He concluded by urging attendees to seek this supernatural empowerment: “Grace empowers us for miracles. Ministry becomes more impactful and lasting when people are convicted and transformed after your ministration.”
The session transitioned into a command performance by ANCEDRAM Akwa Ibom State, which artistically portrayed the dangers of disobedience and the power of restoration through grace. The drama featured a prince who, through disobedience, lost his royal authority to a wicked servant—only to be restored through the mercy of the king, powerfully echoing the conference theme.
Prominent personalities in attendance included Chairman of the ANCEDRAM Board of Trustees, Evangelist Mike Bamiloye; Evangelist Shola Mike Agboola; BOT Treasurer Adaramola; BOT East representatives Prof. Imoh Emenyi and Damian Duruewuru; BOT North members Evangelist Hans Nuhu and Nichodemus Shitu; as well as former National President Prof. Pastor and Pastor Mrs. Olalekan Asikia.
As the conference progresses, expectations are high that the teachings, performances, and fellowship will stir a fresh wave of revival and spiritual empowerment in the hearts of all attendees.
The conference continues in the days ahead with sessions designed to equip and inspire ministers in the use of drama as a tool for evangelism and transformation.
