2025 Easter Retreat – Assemblies of God Nigeria, Calabar South District
Rev. Chidi Okoroafor, Ph.D, delivered a powerful and prophetic message during the 2025 Easter Retreat of the Assemblies of God Nigeria, Calabar South District. His core message was simple yet profound: Prosperity is God’s will for His people.
Text: 3 John 1:2, Deuteronomy 8:18, Luke 6:38
He opened the message with a bold declaration: "At the end of this message, I see the rise of fresh millionaires! The Lord shall lift you and take you to where you are supposed to be. You will prosper, and you will never remain the same." According to him, this year and beyond, God is releasing a 360-degree increase, growth and prosperity on every side.
AG and the Truth About Prosperity
Rev. Okoroafor strongly rejected the idea that the Assemblies of God (AG) does not believe in prosperity. "We serve a God who takes pleasure in our prosperity. Throw that lie into the dustbin!" he said. He reminded the church that in Psalm 92:12, the Bible says, "The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree." Every part of the palm tree is useful, and in the same way, every part of a believer's life should be fruitful. "You are a new wine," he said. "Men shall drink of you. You taste so good that people will ask where you've been."
He prophesied that men shall look for you and drink of your goodness. "You will not go down again. Progress shall be your middle name."
Understanding Combo Prosperity
Rev. Okoroafor introduced a concept he called Combo Prosperity — a complete, all-round blessing. This includes:
- Financial prosperity
- Good health
- Spiritual growth
- Emotional stability
- Social relevance
He warned against what he called "Queried Prosperity" — a type of one-sided or questionable prosperity. For example:
- A billionaire who travels constantly for medical treatment is not truly prosperous.
- A prayerful sister who speaks in tongues but borrows money to give an offering is not living in full prosperity.
- A rich man living in sin and spiritual emptiness does not reflect God’s standard.
"You can be physically strong but spiritually sick. That is not combo prosperity. That is not God’s plan," he emphasized.
Prosperity Also Means Church Growth
Rev. Okoroafor didn’t limit prosperity to individuals. He extended the message to the church, pointing out that many church galleries have now become parking spaces due to low attendance. "We have cathedrals without human beings. We have become a donor denomination. Who did this to us?"
He prophesied a wave of numerical growth and expansion. "I see sinners, criminals, prostitutes surrendering to Christ. I serve a God of progress and prosperity!"
The Need for Capable and Willing Sponsors
Many church projects remain incomplete, not because there are no people, but because those willing to help are not capable, and those capable are not willing. He prayed: *"By the grace I carry, I pray that God will raise men and women who are both capable and willing!"
He challenged believers to step into this grace and stop depending on fundraising programs. "The mentality of doing programs to raise money should be buried!" he said.
Believe in Your Prophet
Using 2 Chronicles 20:20, Rev. Okoroafor reminded the congregation: "Believe in the Lord and you shall be established. Believe in His prophet and you shall prosper." He warned that the grace you criticize cannot benefit you. *"You got no business sitting under a preacher you don't believe in."
Job: A Case Study in Combo Prosperity
He urged believers not to read the Book of Job with only suffering in mind. Job was the richest man in the East and was spiritually upright. Even in his wealth, he stayed faithful to his wife. "Who told you that a millionaire cannot worship God? It's a matter of choice!"
He exposed the fake lifestyles some believers put up in church. "What we see in church today is the edited version of people. Who are you in your unedited version?" God sees us even in our darkest, secret places.
The job was not part of the "fast guy club." He was a righteous man, and even Satan had to get permission from God before he could touch him. When God blesses, He also protects.
Prosperity and Good Health
3 John 1:2 shows that God wants us to prosper and be in good health, even as our soul prospers. Rev. Okoroafor reminded the church that good health is better than divine healing.
"From today, you will swim in oceans of good health!" he declared. He warned that many are wealthy but spiritually porous, and their days are numbered. True prosperity includes long life and divine satisfaction.
He added: "If money could buy life, the owner of Apple wouldn’t have died."
God Takes Pleasure in Your Prosperity
Psalm 35:27 says God delights in the prosperity of His servants. "Do you think God is happy seeing you push your motorcycle every day?" he asked. God wants His children to prosper in everything they do and everywhere they go.
He said: "God is sending you to green pastures. Your table is coming, and it shall not be hidden. God will go public with your blessing!"
Even in a hostile environment, God will prepare a table before your enemies. "When God gives you a table, He gives you a balanced diet," he added.
Joseph: Proof That God Can Prosper You Anywhere
Joseph was a classic example of combo prosperity. Sold into slavery and taken to a strange land, Joseph still prospered. Despite attempts to destroy his dreams, he rose to the throne.
"God gave him a free passport, accommodation, and elevation because he was underage for a visa. His brothers tried to kill the dream, but God made a way."
Rev. Okoroafor ended his message with this powerful declaration:
"God will cause you to prosper and increase all around. By this time next year, there shall be a complete turnaround for good in your life. No more dryness. Amen!"
Final Words
Prosperity is not a worldly idea — it is God’s plan for your life. But true prosperity is balanced. It touches your finances, your health, your spiritual life, and your emotional well-being. It overflows into the church and the community.
Rev. Chidi Okoroafor’s message is clear: God wants you to prosper, completely and in every area of your life.
Are you ready for combo prosperity? Your season of 360-degree increase has begun.
